Orthodontics for Children

The American Association of Orthodontists and Dr. Hanseen recommend that your child have their first orthodontic evaluation at the first sign of orthodontic problems or no later than age seven.

Your child's teeth have developed enough by this age to allow Dr. Hanseen and his team to detect subtle problems with emerging teeth and jaw growth before your child loses all of their baby teeth.

Your child's check-up at our Glendora office may reveal that your child's bite is fine and early treatment isn't necessary.

Or, Dr. Hanseen may identify a developing problem but recommend monitoring your child's growth and development for the time being. After that, we can begin treatment at the best time for your child's smile.

Phase I treatment with Dr. Hanseen may prevent or intercept more serious problems from developing and make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated.

Orthodontics for Teens

For teens around the Glendora area, the most common time for orthodontic treatment at Hanseen Orthodontics is between the ages of 10 and 16.

Dr. Hanseen can easily recognize spacing, crowding, bite, and alignment issues in this age range, and your teen's bone and jaw structure are formed enough to allow orthodontic treatment to begin.

At Hanseen Orthodontics, your teen can choose between Invisalign clear aligners, metal braces, or clear ceramic braces.

Each choice offers unique benefits while straightening your teen's smile and improving their self-confidence.

Orthodontics for Adults

You’re never too old to benefit from orthodontic treatment with Dr. Hanseen, and that’s why we offer orthodontics for adults at our Glendora office.

Believe it or not, your teeth don’t stop moving after your teen years. Teeth that seemed straight and aligned in youth could have shifted later in life, causing jaw pain, trouble brushing, or a smile you’re unhappy with.

If you leave misaligned teeth untreated, you may develop other dental problems, such as tooth decay and gum disease. You may also notice abnormal wear on the surface of your teeth or that it's difficult to chew normally.

Dr. Hanseen can address these issues and more through orthodontic treatment, giving you the healthy smile you deserve. We can correct orthodontic problems just as easily for adults as for children using discreet and modern treatment options.

Why Should You Consider Orthodontic Treatment?

Straight Teeth Are Healthy

After Dr. Hanseen aligns your teeth, it's easier for you to keep them clean through regular flossing and brushing. This helps prevent other oral issues, including problems affecting your overall health.

A Straight Smile Builds Confidence &
Self-Esteem

Successful orthodontic treatment at Hanseen Orthodontics can help boost your self-esteem, create a better quality of life, and allow you to smile confidently.

Untreated Oral Issues Will Get Worse

If you refuse or delay orthodontic treatment when Dr. Hanseen recommends it, you may develop long-term health issues that may cost you more later.

At Hanseen Orthodontics, our team understands that teens, kids, and adults have different dental needs, so we give each age group personalized care.
